2020 -
Introduction to SuperCollider
Workshop
Software: SuperCollider
Instructor: Luis Sanz
Experience level: Beginner
Duration: from 6 hours to 2 days.
This workshop is open to anyone interested in sound and experimentation, and is aimed at beginners; no previous programming experience is required. A basic knowledge of how digital audio works will be assumed as a necessary background for the successful use of SuperCollider.
Participants will explore the qualities of stochastic* synthesis, learn how to control and tweak the algorithm, and create their own sounding instrument with a user interface for live performance.
At the end of the workshop a free improvisation session will be organized with all the participants, seeking to perform like an orchestra of computer noise.
*Stochastic Processes
- Collection of random variables indexed by time.
- Probability distribution over a space of paths.
Development of a sound instrument and user interface during the workshop, 2022.
About SuperCollider:
