Introduction to SuperCollider

This workshop is open to anyone interested in sound and experimentation, and is aimed at beginners; no previous programming experience is required. A basic knowledge of how digital audio works will be assumed as a necessary background for the successful use of SuperCollider.
Participants will explore the qualities of stochastic* synthesis, learn how to control and tweak the algorithm, and create their own sounding instrument with a user interface for live performance.
At the end of the workshop a free improvisation session will be organized with all the participants, seeking to perform like an orchestra of computer noise.

SuperCollider is a platform for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition, used by musicians, artists, and researchers working with sound.
It is free and open source software available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. SuperCollider is an efficient and expressive dynamic programming language providing a framework for acoustic research, algorithmic music, real time performance, art installation, interactive programming and live coding.
